ABRA EARTHQUAKE – The actual devastation of the powerful earthquake at a supermarket in La Trinidad, Benguet was caught on CCTV.
The 7.3 magnitude earthquake in Abra was recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology on Wednesday (July 27). The strong earthquake causes damage to many houses and establishments in the province.
The quake was also felt in Metro Manila and nearby provinces. Several aftershocks were experienced following the major earthquake.
A Facebook user named Junior Salaysay shared the video footage of the powerful earthquake devastating a supermarket in Benguet. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.
The manager of a supermarket in Barangay Pico in La Trinidad, Benguet released CCTV footage of the earthquake devastation inside the establishment at around 8:44 a.m. on Wednesday. The earthquake violently shook the shelves.
Numerous food items fell to the ground as the shaking continued. The latter said it was the strongest earthquake he had ever experienced in his entire life. The store manager said the building was not damaged, but fragile products were broken and scattered inside the store.
“In the building, nothing was damaged, only goods were damaged, especially glassware such as wines, canapés and other items in bottles.” The narrative said.
Salaysay immediately cleans up the mess and tidies up the shop after the incident. The operation was resumed a few hours after the earthquake.
