Ankara Turkey – President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, had a telephone conversation yesterday which, among other things, focused on the issue of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, Ukraine.
Erdogan said that regarding the issue of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, Turkiye can play a facilitating role, Anadolu Agency reported, citing a statement from Turkey’s Communications Directorate.
The two leaders also exchanged views on grain exports.
On July 22, Turkey, the United Nations (UN), Russia and Ukraine signed an agreement to resume grain exports that were previously suspended due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
In other developments, Erdogan also expressed his condolences to Putin over the death of leader Mikhail Gorbachev. – APPOINTED
