White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre suggested on “The View” Thursday that the Biden administration is trying to “fix” an immigration system that former President Trump decimated.

Republicans helped create chaos at the border.

Jean-Pierre told the hosts of “The View” that the number of people fleeing countries like Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela to enter America has increased recently saying, “We’ve seen a 121 percent increase over last year. So we’re talking about places that have a communist regime and they’re trying to leave that communist regime, and you see this problem in the Western Hemisphere… So we have a new kind of migration that’s happening.”

She argued that the Biden administration has handled the situation responsibly by working closely with countries in the troubled region, but Republican governors have been problematic.

“All of our regional partners are dealing with it. We’re talking to them and we’re in constant communication,” she said. “That’s why the stunt the Republican governors are pulling is so shameful.”

Republican governors such as Florida’s Ron DeSantis have sent migrants to areas popular with liberal politicians in an attempt to put the chaos at the border back into the political spotlight.

Jean-Pierre suggested the move was “so inhumane” because the Trump administration caused the problems in the first place.

“It’s so inhumane because while we’re trying to fix a problem that’s been decimated, an immigration system that’s been decimated by the last administration, they’re not coming up with solutions,” Jean-Pierre argued. “They use children, they use women and families as a political stunt, as a political trick because they don’t want solutions at all.”

Jean-Pierre further added, “I want to ask Governor DeSantis, ‘Why? Why are you doing this? Why are you doing this to children? Families? Where is the solution?”

Jean-Pierre is the latest of several Democratic leaders, such as Vice President Kamala Harris and Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., to suggest that Republicans, particularly the Trump administration, are to blame for the current border crisis.

Harris suggested in a video published Wednesday by Vice that the Biden administration has spent time and resources to “rebuild” the immigration system.
