Solo State University (UNS) Fintech Center researcher Putra Pamungkas said Jokowi’s move to transform into the digital sector was the right move.
“I think (the government’s policy) is really good. The government’s programs are to give birth to new unicorns,” Putra said in Surakarta, Central Java on Sunday, August 21, 2022.

He explained that this policy in the midst of an era of technological advancement can help startup players continue to grow.
According to him, a number of Jokowi’s strategic policies on digital transformation are in line with the needs of the times, so the benefits that will be presented can have a good impact on people’s lives.
Meanwhile, to prepare for the smooth running and activities of the virtual world, Jokowi has prepared other support facilities. One that is promoted is the implementation of digital infrastructure development.
Putra admits that he is optimistic that even the distribution of digital infrastructure is the main key that can give rise to new unicorns. Not only that, his presence is also able to make the sustainability of startup players more secure.
“This unicorn is based on Internet-based technology, yes. So it’s very dependent on network infrastructure. Data and all kinds of things,” Putra explained.
