iOS 16 Restore battery percentage display on Iphone

iPhone users will once again be able to see their device’s battery percentage right in the status bar. The long-missed feature will return with Apple’s latest software version, iOS 16, this fall.

After the iPhone X was released, which introduced the notch — the black bar at the top of the device that houses the speaker and camera — there wasn’t enough screen left to keep the battery percentage there, so Apple improved the feature from iOS .

Sure, you can swipe down from the top right of your iPhone to see the exact percentage in Control Center, but it’s not the same. You can’t see your battery percentage from any app or home screen. Fortunately, the latest (fifth) developer beta and (third) public beta release of iOS 16 have reintroduced the battery percentage number back to the status bar, within the existing battery icon.

Reporting from CNET on Thursday (11/8/2022), to see the battery percentage in the status bar in iOS 16, all you have to do is use the latest iOS 16 public beta (third) or developer beta (the fifth). After you update, you’ll see the percentage in the battery icon in the upper-right corner of your screen, from anywhere on your iPhone.

While the device is charging, the battery icon will turn solid green, indicating the percentage. In low power mode, the battery icon will turn solid yellow, but again with a percentage in it.
