A new Marist poll released Wednesday shows a big heat between Republican candidate JD Vance and Democratic candidate Rep. Tim Ryan in this year’s closely watched Ohio Senate race.

According to the poll of registered voters, Vance holds a slight lead of 46 percent to Ryan’s 45 percent, while 9 percent of voters remain undecided less than seven weeks before Election Day.

The margins remained the same when respondents were asked if they would definitely vote in the November general election, with Vance still holding a 48 percent lead to Ryan’s 47 percent and just 5 percent remaining undecided.
