Arsenal technical director Edu has vowed he will never sign a new player for the club without manager Mikel Arteta’s approval.

Both men are former Arsenal midfielders and have been in their current roles at the club since 2019, meaning they are jointly responsible for overhauling the club’s squad throughout the transfer windows.

So far this summer, they have brought in plenty of new players into the Gunners squad. Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko joined for a total of around £80m, while Potugis attacking midfielder Fabio Vieira was signed from FC Porto for £40m.
