Disney has updated that Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love and Thunder will not be released in Malaysia after all (I saw that coming, didn’t I?).

Although no official reasons have been given, netizens in Malaysia have their suspicions as to why the film is “banned” from airing in the country.

Some of the speculation includes depictions of LGBT, some nudity, and god-like beings from other religions in the film.

Thor: Love and Thunder premiered in the United States on July 8, but faced delays regarding its screening date in Malaysia.

On July 13, Disney updated the film’s release as “To Be Announced”, putting the film on an indefinite hold to be screened in Malaysia.

Disney’s final decision not to screen Thor: Love and Thunder nationally will be a blow to many Marvel fans who have been eagerly awaiting the film.
