Child, 8, critically injured in San Bernardino double shooting – San Bernardino Sun

An 8-year-old child was seriously injured in a double shooting in San Bernardino, police said in a Tuesday, July 26, news release.

San Bernardino police responded to the 1300 block of North Herrington Avenue at 8:49 p.m. Friday in reference to a shooting involving a child, police said. When officers arrived, they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

The child had a “critical” wound, authorities said. The youth’s condition was not available Tuesday, and no age or gender was provided.

The second victim had a non-life-threatening injury, police said.

Minimal information about the suspect was provided to police, and the suspects fled the area before officers arrived, officials said.

The reason was not immediately clear.
