Chelsea fans have taken to social media to express their thoughts after the Blues restricted the signing of Wesley Fofana from Leicester City.

Chelsea have announced the signing of Fofana from Premier League rivals Leicester. They paid an initial fee of £70 million to acquire the centre-back’s services.

Fofana thus becomes the Blues’ seventh major signing of the summer transfer window. He joins Marc Cucurella, Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Carney Chukwuemeka, Gabriel Slonina and Cesare Casadei in moving to Stamford Bridge this season.

However, the 21-year-old’s arrival doesn’t seem to have lightened the mood much among Chelsea fans. The London giants have spent over £200million this summer but supporters believe the club need more signings.

Here’s how a section of the Blues faithful reacted to Fofana’s signing:

@ChelseaFC Warra 3 points for us against Southampton. Bring more players. At least one striker and one midfielder

One Blues supporter tweeted:

“It’s funny how you keep buying defenders when all we need is [a] attacker.”

@ChelseaFC Funny how you keep buying defenders when all we need is STRIKER 😭

Another fan highlighted the need for the Blues to sign four more players before the transfer window closes tomorrow (September 1), writing:

“I love it guys, we can’t stop here. We need two more attackers, [a] midfielder and [a Reece] James backup.”

@ChelseaFC Love it guys we can’t stop here we need 2 more attacking midfielders and back up james

@ChelseaFC Now sign a midfielder and a striker as soon as possible

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea fans will get their wish before the transfer deadline. The Blues are in the market to sign at least one striker after completing the transfer of Fofana.
