A sports reporter made a police report threatened by fanatical badminton fans

PETALING JAYA – Hometown sports host Hafizal Hamad filed a police report yesterday after receiving a threat from a fanatical fan of the country’s singles badminton player.

Hafizal when contacted by Kosmo! said the police report made at the Shah Alam District Police Headquarters (IPD) was made after receiving a security threat following a live broadcast program managed by him at the Astro Arena.

“In the Nin Dia Pak Long show, I and two other host friends discussed the condition and performance of this badminton player.

“Usually we will say the right thing and the aim is to lift the player’s spirits, but there are fanatics who are not happy and have sent me a DM (direct message) on social media.

“The threats are quite rude and dangerous, after talking to my friends and lawyers I was advised to make a police report to ensure my safety,” he explained just now.

Hafizal added that the police also provided good cooperation for almost two hours when he made a statement to the IPD.

“God willing, I hope everyone is safe. The police were cooperative and serious in this case of threats,” he added.

Earlier, Hafizal, when he was hosting a sports program, Nin Dia Pak Long, which was aired on Astro Arena, was threatened by some fanatics of a national badminton player.
