KUALA SELANGOR – A total of 2,000 pupils and students from the Tanjong Karang Parliament asnaf group received zakat donations worth RM260,000 today.
The donation by Bank Rakyat was channeled to beneficiaries involving 24 primary and secondary schools.
Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Development Minister Tan Sri Noh Omar said the selection was determined by the school’s management, which included parents of students and less able students.
He said the recipient of the donation did not consider the political party’s understanding to reduce the burden of providing equipment for schools and hostels.
“We hope that this zakat donation is not only for daily use but also to buy equipment and school equipment for the children.
“The donation involved a total of 16 primary schools and eight secondary schools in Tanjong Karang parliament,” he said after handing over the donation at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Berjaya, Tanjong Karang here today.
Noh, who is also the Member of Parliament for Tanjong Karang, explained that the contribution of corporate organizations is an important initiative as it impacts the entire Malaysian Family community and this country.
Meanwhile, SK Seri Gambut principal Azizah Ajis said the donation was very meaningful to the parents of students at the school
“On average, the parents are made up of asnaf who only work in the village and have no fixed income.
“A total of 100 students from our school received the donation, which is hoped to help reduce the burden on parents who buy supplies,” he said. – COSMO! ONLINE
